Further Information
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council prides itself on being a great place to work where staff are trusted, valued and supported to make a positive contribution at work.

Within the Learning and Skills Service we are driven and committed to support Stockton-on-Tees residents and businesses to meet their full economic potential whilst increasing opportunities, prosperity, wellbeing and cohesion in the communities we serve. We have a very clear mission to create a brighter future for all.

Ofsted (2018) judged the service as being a ‘good’ learning provider and we now strive to become recognised as outstanding in all that we do.

This post provides the exciting opportunity to join the new senior management team of the Learning and Skills Service and help shape our future direction. The postholder will lead on the strategic planning and implementation of an innovative and responsive curriculum which meets the needs of local residents, employers and stakeholders. The postholder will lead on all aspects of quality assurance and improvement to ensure curriculum delivery results in outstanding levels of achievement and progression leading to personal, social and economic growth.

The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with experience in the post-19 adult learning sector managing adult skills, community learning and apprenticeship delivery. Applicants must be able to demonstrate practicable knowledge of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework and experience of an Ofsted inspection in a ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ organisation.

We offer an excellent total reward package including a competitive salary, generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement as well as access to a number of additional employee benefits and a wide range of learning and development opportunities.

This post has been identified as suitable for flexible working which enables the postholder to work 40% of their working time away from the office.
