A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join South Tyneside Council's newly created Performance and Change Management Service.

It is an exciting time to join the Council as we move forward with the ‘Our Council’ change programme which has been designed to help the Council modernise and strengthen its operations across all areas. There is a big emphasis on the use of data, evidence and insight to inform and improve our practice and service delivery – ultimately resulting in better outcomes for the residents of South Tyneside.

Ensuring the Council has a robust performance management framework is integral to our success. We are therefore investing in performance management and are hoping to add capacity to our current team through four new posts.

One permanent post will support corporate performance reporting and help ensure we are clearly measuring performance against our refreshed 3 Year Council Strategy. The other permanent post will support our Adult Social Care and Commissioning Teams, including helping us prepare for a significant new assurance and inspection framework and revised data returns which are on the horizon in 2023.

The other two positions are temporary posts which will support the team in delivering two high profile national pathfinder projects around improving outcomes for children with special education needs and another in achieving better outcomes for children and families in the care process.

All of these postholders will work as a valued and key part of the Council’s Performance and Information Team. The Team is well regarded nationally and has recently taken a lead role in the collection and analysis of social care and education data for the North East.

We will offer successful candidates: access to development opportunities; learning from supportive and experienced data leads; the chance to work in a friendly supportive team; exposure to senior managers in key services who value data; the chance to work directly with frontline colleagues to make a real difference in the Borough; and, an excellent training and development offer, including PowerBi training and access to DataCamp. Finally, we can offer a flexible approach to home working and an attractive pension and car lease schemes.
If you have a positive and ‘solutions focused’ mindset, and the opportunity to use your data and analytical skills to make a real difference to outcomes for local people really excites you, we would be thrilled to hear from you.
