We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, efficient and motivated individual to join the Transport Services Team within Direct Services.

Reporting to the Team Leader, the successful applicant will be responsible to undertake inspections, repairs and maintenance on all Council vehicles and specialist equipment to Ministry of Transport standards.

There is a requirement to work a rotating shift pattern, and cover an out of hours call out.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a flexible and organised approach to their work and have good communication and interpersonal skills.

The applicant should have a NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in motor vehicle craft studies or be able to demonstrate the relevant knowledge and experience and be able to work as an individual with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

A current Large Goods Vehicle class ‘C’ licence and MOT nominated tester class 4 & 7 would be an advantage but not essential.
