North Tyneside Council’s Bereavement Service is responsible for 7 cemeteries, 6 closed church yards and 2 crematoria (Whitley Bay and Tynemouth) situated within over 120 acres of land.

We are looking to recruit two individuals to our seasonal grass cutting posts to support our grounds maintenance programme working alongside the team carrying out grass cutting and associated tasks within the seven cemeteries and six closed churchyards across the Borough.

This post will require you to work outdoors, and you will also need to have a positive approach to teamwork. Previous grounds maintenance experience and horticultural knowledge as well as working with mechanical gardening equipment would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.

This post is 37 hours per week, fixed term 13th March to 24th November 2023.
