The Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle has a growth plan for Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust to serve South Tyneside, Sunderland and East Durham, with a total of 34 schools in the Trust by July 2022.
Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust was established in February 2016, currently there are 26 schools within the Trust with a schedule of additional schools joining each term.

St Bede’s is a popular and oversubscribed North East Top Ten School, on a rapid journey towards outstanding status. As such, we are looking to appoint a dedicated Administrative Assistant.
Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust safeguards and protects its students and staff by being committed to respond in accordance with South Tyneside Child Protection Procedures. Enhanced DBS checks are mandatory for all school staff.
Salary: Grade 3/SCP 04 – 06, annual salary £19,264 - £20,043 (pro rata £16,596.60 – £17,267.74)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract: 37 hours per week, term time only (Mon-Thurs 08:30 – 16:30, Fri 08:30 – 16:00, including a 0.5 hour unpaid lunch break)

The Administrative Team at St Bede’s Catholic School and Byron Sixth Form College has an important role to play in the smooth running and success of the school. As the first contact point for parents and external agencies, this role is multi-faceted and fast paced. Due to this, we are looking for an individual who is adaptable, flexible and able to navigate changes quickly and effectively.

Covering reception duties and responsible for a busy inbox for general enquiries, you will be able to prioritise inbound enquiries accordingly, whilst also delivering a high standard of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders including Teachers, Parents, Social Workers and other organisations which the school partners with.

The Administrative Assistant role is responsible for supporting the Business Manager, Senior Leadership Team and specific departments across the school with general and legislative requirements, so experience of the following would be highly advantageous;
• Finance Administration
• HR Administration
• DBS Applications
• MIS Maintenance (SIMs)

Experience of working with a variety of different computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office/OneDrive and Google Docs is vital for this role.
