As an Trainee Environmental Protection Officer, you will gain valuable work experience to support our residents to live and work in safe healthy environments. Working alongside experienced colleagues in the Environmental Health Team you will spend your time out in the community working with local businesses and member of the public developing your knowledge and skills to carrying out a range of inspections and providing education on Public Nuisance, Statutory Nuisance, Animal Welfare, and Pest Control as well as much more.

This role will require some out of hours work on evenings and weekends and the ability to or willingness to work towards independent travel around the borough (via car, bus or other modes of transport) would be essential.
To be shortlisted for interview you will need to demonstrate in your application:
• Level 3 qualification or above (e.g. A-levels / BTECs)
• GCSE (or equivalent) English Language, Maths and a Science subject at Grade C / 4 or above
• Effective communication skills - listening, spoken and written
• Ability to analyse, interpret and present data and solve problems in a logical manner
• A team player who is not afraid to try something new
• Commitment to own personal and professional development

APPRENTICESHIP QUALIFICATION:
You will be given appropriate paid time off work, to attend training and work towards completion of the Regulatory Compliance Officer – Level 4 apprenticeship qualification
