Fixed term for one year in the first instance

For September 2023, governors are wishing to appoint a full time Class Teacher in Early Years Foundation Stage to join our successful team of passionate educators in school. This post is temporary, for one year in the first instance. Newly qualified, recently qualified and more experienced teachers are welcome to apply.

We are looking for a teacher who:

• Is an outstanding and motivated practitioner who secures excellent pupil progress and has a passion for early years.
• Has a high expectation of all children.
• Is creative and proactive in their approach to teaching and learning.
• Has a deep understanding of how children learn to read and can foster a love of reading
• Has excellent knowledge of synthetic phonics and the teaching of early reading and writing
• Has an interest in outdoor learning and how this can enhance learning experiences for pupils
• Use summative and formative assessment (assessment for learning) accurately to ensure that high standards of progress and achievement are promoted through all the work of the school.
• Has excellent interpersonal skills and enjoys working in a team.
• Can support subject development across the school
• Is passionate about becoming an integral part of our school’s journey towards outstanding.

Gosforth Park First School is fully able to support an ECT in this post.

We will be shortlisting successful candidates on Monday 12th June and contacting these candidates to inform them about the interview process and any associated tasks which will take place on Thursday 15th or Friday 16th June. The process will involve observations of class teaching either at the candidate’s current school or if this isn’t possible, with pupils in our school.
