The Participation Manager (Sport & Physical Activity) will therefore play an important role in supporting the Active & Creative Hartlepool service to improve people’s lives through a focus on reducing physical inactivity and developing high quality, accessible opportunities for all within the community.

This post will report to the Participation & Strategy Manager and work closely with the senior management team. Applicants should be educated to A Levels or equivalent and possess a minimum of an NGB Level 2 or equivalent. Previous experience in managing staff and budgets with a proven record of improving results will be essential. Additionally, applicants will need to demonstrate competencies in partnership working, project/event management along with understanding current challenges, opportunities, policies and developments relating to the post.

The successful candidate will also support in the development of plans and bids aimed at securing resources for the continual improvement upon the delivery of services whilst having overall responsibility for the Participation team and the associated staff.

The working week will be varied and often linked to the requirements of the role and associated deadlines. The successful candidate must be passionate about the value and impact that physically activity and creativity can have, be knowledgeable about the sector and local landscape of Hartlepool and be able to demonstrate professionally, how you’ve been able to make a difference to people’s lives, through physical activity and being creative.
