Further Information
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual who is enthusiastic about working with communities and motivated to find locally-led solutions to energy security and achieving net zero.
This role will work collaboratively across the whole Net Zero Hub region to identify potential opportunities within local communities and provide advice and support to those communities to develop local-led community energy schemes and investible business cases.
The successful applicant will build links with communities across the wider Hub region to identify a pipeline of potential community energy project proposals that could be supported with community energy funding and signpost projects to those opportunities, providing support to develop applications where needed.
The successful candidate will be a strong collaborator, working well across a diverse geography, as well as being comfortable working with external stakeholders, including community groups and organisations. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as being highly organised and able to prioritise their own workload.
The role will require a keen problem solver, able to identify where they can add value to support delivery and how to access additional support as needed. Some familiarity with project development, funding programmes such as the Rural Community Energy Fund (RCEF) and/or sector organisations such as Community Energy England is desirable.
Previous experience with community groups, community-led activity or energy project development would be an advantage in this role, as well as the ability to travel independently throughout the region. Flexible working to provide ad hoc support outside of regular office hours may be required, for example to attend a committee meeting either online or in person.
