We are looking for a Young Persons Support and Progression Worker to join our team.

Fixed term until March 2025

The Role: We have an exciting opportunity in our Support & Progression services following a successful joint bid with Newcastle City Council to the Department for Education (DFE) to deliver a ‘Staying Close’ service to young people. We are looking to appoint a Young Persons Support & Progression Worker as part of the Staying Close project.

The successful worker will act as a mentor to young people who are leaving residential care and will have demonstrable experience in developing positive relationships with young people. The successful worker will provide proactive support to ensure young people have the skills to do things for themselves, developing their abilities and confidence and helping them to overcome any barriers to living independently.

The Person: You will be an experienced Social Worker with a current Social Work England registration who is passionate about supporting young people on their journey to independence. You should have experience of providing excellent person-centred support to young people on a one to one basis to assess their needs and agree a plan for support.

You will be a strengths focused, committed and passionate Social Worker who has experience of working in a psychologically informed way to help overcome any barriers to engagement or progression.

We are looking for Social Workers who have experience of working positively and proactively with young people, family and professionals, to meet agreed goals. Work flexibly across the City, including carrying out home visits.
