This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic and customer friendly individual to help Sunderland City Council in its drive to make our living and working environment a safer place.
The City Alarm and Emergency Centre is a 24/7 service which operates within a purpose built state of the art facility offering alarm and CCTv monitoring.
The operations within the Emergency Centre are subject to a number of legislative and procedural guidelines, but a common sense and decent values approach is required.
The City Alarm and Emergency service aims to meet customer expectations and our team have a crucial role to play in this. We are therefore looking to appoint enthusiastic and customer friendly people to enhance our acknowledged quality service.
We are currently looking to recruit to a Back Shift position, working four days on and four days off, amounting to 28 hrs per week average. There are also further expected opportunities in the same role across different shift patterns in the coming months, including 06:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00 and 22:00-06:00. Applications would be welcome for those interested, with opportunity within the application to specify a shift preference. Candidates successful at interview will be held on file for 6 months to be considered for future opportunities.
The successful candidates must have excellent communication, organisational and administration skills combined with the ability to respond accurately and immediately to incidents. You must have the ability to work as an effective team member. Training will be provided in all aspects of the role both internally and externally, including working towards Security Industry Authority Licence.
Experience of Windows based applications is essential along with a flexible approach. Applicants must have or be capable of working towards the Security Industry Authority Licence for Public Open Space CCTv Monitoring.
This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to an enhanced DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service. A pre -employment BS7858 Security Check will also be required.
