We are currently seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant with a background in care and support to join our team. This is a long-term full-time role with the potential for permanent placement for the right candidate.
Job Description: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be working within a SEN school in Newcastle (NE5), providing crucial support to learners aged 2-16 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Moderate Learning Disabilities (MLD), and other challenging behaviours. Your role may include working 1:1 with students or in small groups.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
A background in care and support.
Ideally, hold a Level 2/3 qualification in Health and Social Care or Teaching and Supported Learning.
Comfortable working 1:1 and in small groups with students.
Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of SEN learners.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A fully enhanced DBS check on the update service or the willingness to obtain a new one.
