Governors of New Delaval Primary School are looking to appoint two part time Teaching Assistants linked to pupils with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). These posts are fixed term, initially for a period of 12 months.
Vacancy 1. 30 hours per week Monday-Friday (Term Time Only) - KS1
Vacancy 2. 30 hours per week Monday- Friday (Term Time Only) – KS2
The role is to support pupils with an EHCP in the classroom and at breaktimes. Governors would like to appoint a flexible and dedicated professional with classroom experience of supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.
The successful candidates will be working alongside the class teacher to provide a high standard of support and will need to be able to plan, deliver and monitor work to meet the needs of the EHCP as well as adapting materials to support the pupil’s learning and development.
The following attributes are necessary:
· A variety of communication skills to respond to the needs of the child
· Empathy and understanding of children's individual learning abilities
· Knowledge, understanding and experience of working with children who have an EHCP
· An understanding of the National Curriculum for KS1 and KS2
· Patience and a good sense of humour
· Flexibility
