Further Information
The Connexions Service, which provides careers information, advice and guidance for young people, is seeking an Adviser to work with young people aged 13-25.

You will be required to provide careers guidance and support to a caseload of young people aged 13 to 19 – or older for those who may have special educational needs or disabilities. Most of your caseload will consist of Looked after Children (LAC), Youth Justice (YJ) young people, you may also be school based, and you will also work with young who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).

You will be expected to have some prior experience of working with young people in this age range and have either a qualification at Level 6 in Careers Guidance, or a postgraduate qualification in a related field (for example, youth work, teaching or training, social work).

If you do not hold level 6 in Careers Guidance you will be expected to work towards this.

You will be required to engage with young people, inspire and motivate them towards their participation in learning or employment. As such, you will need to have a good understanding of the range of options for young people and the pathways that they can follow. You will be required to record and report data for LAC and YJ young people.

You will be a member of a team of advisers within the Connexions service. You will, however, be required to work frequently on your own and will be responsible for self-managing your time and your day to day activities.
