For passengers and freight, Transport North East (TNE) oversees strategic transport planning at a regional level on behalf of the North East Joint Transport Committee, representing the seven local authorities in our region.
TNE has an exciting opportunity for two Transport Policy and Strategy Officers to support the development of the North East bus Enhanced Partnership and associated policies and business cases.
In an exciting and transformational period for the region’s transport network, you will be placed at the heart of moving things to the next level, you will work with the team to take things forward and build upon some of the innovative schemes already delivered. You will also be aligned with two high profile regional projects which will have high impact in the North East.
You will be expected to build strong relationships internally and externally and be able to influence shape and challenge across the strategy and policy sphere to drive an integrated approach to the North East Enhanced Partnership. You will also be involved in the development and implementation of new and existing strategy and policy initiatives across the organisation.
TNE is looking for individuals with knowledge and expertise of writing policies and strategies and experience of forming strong working relationships with stakeholders.
Critically, you will have writing and communication skills. Your work will be read and considered by influential stakeholders including regional politicians, transport operators and government departments.
