Please note: this apprenticeship will commence in September 2024

During the role you will do the following:

· Work alongside qualified civil engineers, managers, and colleagues to learn aspects of the role

· Prepare and produce sketches, diagrams, and models, to support technical problem solving

· Assist in the preparation and production of plans, designs, and documentation to relevant codes of practice and industry standards

· Operate bespoke software which includes working with mapping and planning systems.

· Assist colleagues on site visits, take photographs and log details of visits.

· Carry out calculations and data analysis,

· Provide general administrative tasks such as processing information, creation and collating of documents, photocopying.

· Maintain information systems such as filing, uploading and extraction of data.

· Gather and enter data into spreadsheets, databases, and other electronic information systems.

 

The Service

Technical Services is responsible for the provision of three key functions across Northumberland. We manage, maintain and improve the highway and transport network, to make sure that everyone can travel safely and without significant delay or disruption on our roads, footways and cycleways throughout the year.

Alongside this we arrange home to school transport and procure supported public transport services. We also provide the Lead Local Flood Authority and Coastal Protection Authority roles.

Salary: National Apprenticeship Wage

 
Fixed term for completion of apprenticeship qualification. 
 

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at grade 4/c or above (or equivalent)

Must be willing to attend off site/virtual apprenticeship training.
