The Academy Council of Green Lane Church of England Primary School are seeking to appoint an experienced and committed Teaching Assistant, to provide targeted support to pupils on a 1:1 basis in accordance with SEN Support plans and Educational Healthcare Plans.

The successful candidate must have experience of working with children with additional needs and experience of working across EYFS and Key Stage 1 age range.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate a strong passion for learning and be proven in ability to engage and enthuse their pupils, ensuring that each child is able to meet their full potential, in particular those with special educational needs.

The post holder will support teaching staff and will be directed overall by the SENCO/Head Teacher.

General Teaching Assistant duties will be part of the role, including:

• Preparation of resources for the delivery of interventions
• Support to class teachers
• End of day support
• 1:1 and group support
• Contribute to plans and reports as appropriate

The post is to commence in the Autumn term, 2023, following successful interview and pre-employment checks. Candidates must be flexible in approach and adaptable within their work practices.

This post is subject to funding; attached to named pupils, therefore may be subject to review during the academic year.

Calculation of term time only plus one weeks pay

Term time only plus one additional weeks’ pay is calculated on the basis of the following:

• Number of ‘teaching’ weeks – 38 weeks; plus
• Public (bank) holidays – 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus
• one additional week, inclusive of CPD – 1 week; plus
• Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days)

Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 32 days annual leave.

For example:

Calculation for employees with less than 5 years’ service:

39 weeks (term time plus 1) + 27 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 46 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments

Calculation for employees with more than 5 years’ service:

39 weeks (term time plus 1) + 32 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 47 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and, if successful, you will need to apply for an enhanced DBS disclosure.
