Business Services have an exciting opportunity to appoint a permanent 37 hour Administrative Assistant to support the North and East Occupational Therapy Teams across County Durham. 
 

 

WHAT IS INVOLVED? 

This postholder will play an active part as a team member in providing business support to users of our services.

 Listed below are some of the responsibilities this role will be primarily responsible for:
 
To give a high-quality clerical support service to appropriate staff as directed.

Input and retrieve information from the DCC Azeus case management system.

Answer incoming telephone calls and take accurate messages.

Incoming and outgoing mail is received, sorted and distributed in line with procedures.

Photocopy, present and distribute documents as requested.  

Liaise with colleagues internal and external to the organisation by telephone, email or fax.

Ensure own work schedule is planned and organised to meet the standards and targets of Social Work Teams.

Ensure documents and information are kept safe and secure in line with Data Protection and Caldicott requirements.

A commitment to continuous professional development.

Assist colleagues in other areas of Locality & Operational Support providing support at other localities when required. 

The successful candidate will be working alongside our Council’s hybrid model between their home address and a base in County Durham.

WHAT WILL I NEED? 

Qualifications: 4 GCSEs (A-C grades including English Language or Literature), or GNVQ Intermediate in Business) or NVQ 2 Business (or equivalent)

Experience of working in a busy office environment and IT Packages.

HYBRID WORKING  
Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
