An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our busy Payments & Expenditure team, delivering a high-quality customer focused service.

WHAT IS INVOLVED:

The post holder will mainly be responsible for supporting the Schools Oracle Project, as well as providing a purchasing and payments service to DCC's suppliers.
 
The post holder will also provide a responsive, efficient and effective service to all Directorates and actively support the end to end purchase to pay process.

You will report directly to one of two Senior Officers in the Payment & Expenditure Team, working alongside other Payment & Expenditure Officers to ensure that the purchase to pay process is carried out effectively.
 
To be successful you will need to demonstrate you are willing to be flexible, and support colleagues as we strive to deliver an excellent service to customers. You should demonstrate excellent communication skills, present a positive, helpful approach and be comfortable working with online financial systems.

WHAT WILL I NEED:

You should have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or have Level 2/3 and relevant experience of working in an accounts payable or transactional purchasing environment or in a financial services/support environment.

HYBRID WORKING:

Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
