Children’s & Joint Commissioning Services have a vacancy within our Children in Care and Care leavers service for an experienced Family Support Worker working with children with disabilities.

We want to recruit dedicated, driven and committed staff to support us to continue to provide and drive this outstanding service.
This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding Family Support Worker to work as part of our Children with Disabilities Resource Team.
As Family Support Worker, you will provide highly engaging, relevant and innovative support to children and young people with disabilities and provide them and their families with short break respite in a variety of settings such as, youth groups and 1:1 work within the community.
You will work closely with our Children with Disabilities Social Work Team and our Short Break Care unit at Exmoor Grove.
The post holder will have an understanding and/or willingness to work towards understanding a wide range of Disabilities and the impact this may have upon children and young people being able to engage in social opportunities. The Post Holder will be required to use their initiative and imagination to unblock significant barriers children, young people and families we work with face regarding accessing social opportunities and building social skills.
The ideal candidate will have access to their own vehicle and be able to use this vehicle at all times.
The post holder will be passionate about improving life chances for all young people and committed to supporting the needs of our children and young people.

Able to work unsocial hours including during the evening, weekend, early mornings, and school holidays
