Applicants are invited to apply for the role of Housing Management Officer working within the Housing Options team who will be responsible for the day to day management of the Council’s temporary accommodation for homeless households.
You will be required to manage properties across Darlington, which will include moving in and out of households, completing licence agreement at sign up and fully explaining the conditions of the occupancy, completing regular visits, reporting repairs, discussing rent and preparing the property to ensure a quick turnaround so void periods and income loss are minimised.
You will liaise with the Housing Options Officers to ensure the client is adhering to the licence agreement, engaging with their Personalised Housing Plan and all risk assessments are completed with information being shared amongst all relevant professionals.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, resilient and self-motivated and will be able to provide high standard of housing advice and guidance to households to ensure our temporary accommodation is managed to a high standard.
Candidates will need to have effective organisation and communication skills, work well within the team and as an individual, work positively with members of the public and have a flexible approach.
Knowledge of Homelessness legislation, housing law and social housing is desirable but not essential.
