An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Social Worker post in the Asylum Through Care Team. You will be working with separated migrant young people who are seeking asylum in the UK and refugee care experienced young people aged usually between fifteen to twenty-five.
You will be exclusively working with separated migrant young people in the care of Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council who arrive via the National Transfer Scheme (NTS) and spontaneous arrival presentations.
You will be undertaking the main role of a child in our care social worker, as well as being responsive to the need to accommodate children via the NTS, age assessments responses and working within a small team in relation to offering the best support and services to young people and their adjustment to life in the UK.
You will also be supporting young people transitioning from care, completing Pathway Plans, ensuring that young people who you are working with are fully equipped and prepared to navigate their way through to being young adults.
You will be working alongside our young people to ensure good outcomes and the service that we provide is the best that it can be. Our team help with immigration Solicitor appointments, health appointments and engaging into education and/or seeking employment.
We provide support to help young people develop interdependence and life skills aiding a better future. These skills may include cooking, housekeeping, laundry, shopping, and budgeting.
