The Governors of Laurel Avenue Community Primary and Nursery School are looking for a caring, reliable and fun person who can support our children at lunchtimes. The successful candidate will be a positive role model and be able to work in a fair and enthusiastic way with all of our children. They will join our team of Lunchtime Supervisors and Teaching Assistants who support children over lunchtime. 

We are an OPAL school (Outdoor Play and Learning) and so great importance is placed on children’s play outside.

Duties include:
• Supervising the washing and gelling of hands
• Helping generally during the service of the meals
• Developing and encouraging good table manners
• Actively encouraging children in safe, enjoyable play whilst they are in the playground
• Being responsible for the care and supervision of the children over lunchtime
• Assisting in first aid
• Setting out outside equipment and supporting children in their play across play zones
• Supporting the organisation and storage of outside play items into our sheds
• Cleaning dinner tables and the sweeping floor

This position is paid whole time with retainer adjustments applied to periods of school closure.  You will not be required to work during the school closure periods however your salary in these periods will be adjusted accordingly in line with the retainer regulations as specified in the National Joint Council (NJC) Green Book agreement.

Hours of work: 11.50 – 1.15 pm, 5 days per week
