The governors at Roman Road Primary School are looking for an individual who, within the role of Family Support Worker, would be passionate and dedicated to the aim of all children accessing the best level of school provision possible which will enable them to be happy, healthy and successful. Within this role, the appointed person will have the knowledge and skills to provide practical help to families to make significant and sustained changes that will positively impact upon the children of our school.
The main areas of the role (fully detailed in the job description) will be:
• Supporting all families to ensure that their children have high attendance
• Providing identified families with direct advice and support, signposting to further support, and being the school link within Team Around the Family groups
• Providing pupil pastoral support within school
• Supporting the safeguarding of children by undertaking the role of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and liaising with agencies on Early Help and Child Protection matters
• Delivering wider community support through the provision of training courses and events that support families to engage in positive activity
In order to be highly effective and successful within this role, candidates should:
• be dedicated and hardworking• be able to quickly create and maintain purposeful working relationships with a range of people
• have an understanding of the difficulties many families are undergoing
• have the ability to show empathy and understanding whilst having the ability to provide the support necessary to make improvements
Essential qualifications: Level 5 qualification in a relevant Children's Services field and evidence of continuous professional development.
The successful applicant must hold a current driver’s license and have access to a car or means to mobility support.
