Working alongside an established team, you will provide a range of financial support across both Children’s and Adults Social Care as well as Preventative and Community Based Services (e.g. sports, cultural and heritage) and Public Health budget areas, involving:-
· Setting, monitoring and reporting of budgets
· Supporting budget holders in understanding and monitoring their budget position
· Financial guidance, advice and support
· Financial evaluation and monitoring of new grants, projects and policies
· The compilation of various statutory returns and financial statistics eg. ASC-FR, Section 251, RO and RA returns
· Oversee the recovery of income from other bodies (such as the NHS/ICB) for jointly-funded services such as Adult Social Care packages of care;
· Monitoring of a number of existing grants such as Better Care Fund and Discharge to Assess
· The preparation of final accounts and the annual statutory accounts in accordance with relevant accounting and statutory requirements.
· Day to day management and supervision of staff allocated by the Head of Finance, including staff development and the deployment of resources to achieve the Sections objectives and to meet all required deadlines
The ideal candidate will be CCAB qualified and have recent local authority and/or public sector finance experience in a similar role.
