Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Science Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of excellent teaching and a deep understanding of the unique needs of challenging pupils. You will play a crucial role in delivering a stimulating science curriculum that engages students and fosters a positive learning environment.
The post will primarily be at The Bridge based in Lanchester, but the successful candidate may be required to work across other Woodlands sites.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality science lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
• Develop and implement individualised learning plans to support student progress.
• Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Utilise innovative teaching strategies to engage students with varied learning styles.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and support.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to promote student well-being and academic success.
• Contribute to the wider school community through participation in staff meetings, training, and school events.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in Science or a related field.
• Proven experience teaching science, ideally within a PRU or alternative education setting.
• Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students at risk of exclusion.
• Exceptional classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
• A commitment to continuous professional development and improvement.
