We are seeking a Benefits Officer to assist the Benefits team in providing an efficient, high-quality service to customers whilst ensuring all benefit assessment work is undertaken accurately and in compliance with policy and regulations.
 
This includes assessment and verification of claims for Housing Benefit, Local Council Tax Support and Free School Meals.  It will involve dealing with customers face to face, over the telephone and may involve visiting vulnerable customers at home on occasion.
 
Ideally the successful candidate should have experience in Benefits Assessment and have 5 GCSE’s graded A to C – including English and Maths, or equivalent.  You will need to be professional, approachable, and adaptable with a good level of IT competency.
