Children’s Joint Commissioning Services are recruiting to one of our children’s home within Hartlepool. The aim of the home is to provide high quality care for children aged 11 – 18 years who require a safe and caring environment to live.
As a Residential Social Care Officer you will possess a passion for working with children, and support them to develop skills enabling them to build a positive future. You will support children to access and participate in activities, trips and hobbies.
In addition you will be expected to display a strong team spirit, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to work across internal departments and with external agencies.
Applicants must have
NVQ / QCF Level 3 Residential Childcare or equivalent, or a willingness to complete this qualification when in post.
Experience of working with children and young people.
Previous experience of working in a supportive capacity to give practical assistance to children and their families.
Previous experience of working in a supportive environment with children or adults.
A positive attitude and ability to understand trauma informed practice.
A willingness to work unsocial hours which will include early mornings, evenings, sleep overs, weekends and bank holidays.
