About the Team
The International Policy and Partnerships sits within HM Treasury's Financial Services group, is a friendly team of around 20 people that leads on the UK's relationship with other countries and jurisdictions where there are well-developed inter-institutional arrangements for cooperation on financial services. This includes the EU, Gibraltar, Switzerland, Singapore, Japan, Australia and the United States. We work on the development of and policy related to regulatory tools needed to build these international relationships.

About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Policy Adviser to help lead our Financial Services Market Access branch. Great policy making is about understanding what needs to change, what problems need to be solved and supporting Ministers to arrive at the best solution to deliver the change, and the branch develops policy on and handles HM Treasury’s tools for improving international market access in financial services. You will contribute to the growth and competitiveness of the UK financial services sector by improving the ease with which firms are able to safely carry out cross-border financial services, both from and into the UK market.

Key accountabilities
  1. Deliver reform of the UK's overseas regimes to improve ease of cross-border financial services trade for UK-based firms and overseas firms accessing the UK market
  2. Handle the pipeline of overseas regime designations to improve the UK's relationships with key financial services partners around the world
  3. Implement the Gibraltar Authorisation Regime to provide a long-term market access solution for Gibraltar-based financial services firms in the UK
  4. Build positive relationships with colleagues in the Bank of England, the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority to enable effective implementation and delivery of market access regimes for financial services
  5. Build and maintain positive relationships with key overseas collaborators
  6. Line manage two SEOs to provide encouraging and development-focused leadership
