We are looking for an Employee Services Officer who is committed to providing an excellent and efficient service to join our busy Directorates Team.
Employee Services provide a payroll and HR admin service to all services across the Council, Schools, Trusts and Multi Academies Trusts. This role includes payroll preparation and calculation, as well as the related HR administration processes involved in the life cycle of employment through to termination.
Day to day duties include:
- Processing new starters ensuring all paperwork and pre-employment checks are completed.
- Issuing contracts and appropriate paperwork for new starters and existing employee contractual changes
- Manage and process the monthly payroll: Additional hours, allowances, new starters, leavers, changes of hours/work patterns.
- Monitoring employee sickness/maternity/paternity/shared parental leave records.
As well as excellent customer care skills, you will be required to maintain a high level of accuracy, whilst meeting tight deadlines and have the proven ability to work in a high-volume environment, with an eye for detail when checking and reviewing documentation.
Successful candidates should have experience within a HR Administration or payroll role, including the use of a computerised payroll system.
A flexi system is currently in operation giving you the flexibility to work between 7am -7pm, whilst meeting the needs of the business. We offer 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays rising to 29 days after 5 years’ service. You will be expected to work in the office for a minimum of 2 days per week, with the remaining days working from home. To enable you to do that you would need access to the internet via wi-fi in your home. You will be provided with the appropriate IT equipment to enable you to do this and an agile start up payment of £150.
