The Headteacher and Governing body of Carville Primary School are seeking to appoint a Caretaker to start ias soon as possible.   
 
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic individual who is competent, self-motivated, flexible and full of initiative.  A commitment to high standards and the ability to work unsupervised are essential.  This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join our enthusiastic and proactive team and a thriving school community. 
 
Duties will include: 
  • Opening and closing of the school each day with some possible evening and weekend lettings. 
  • A firm understanding of, and compliance with, safeguarding requirements. 
  • Working through a list of prioritised jobs and also have an ability to work from their own initiative in recognising jobs that require attention. 
  • Health & Safety awareness and keeping adequate records. 
  • Supervision and liaising with cleaning staff to ensure efficiency. 
  • The ability to undertake some heavy lifting, moving and handling. 
  • An understanding of the responsibility around the security of the school site. 
  • ICT skills 
  • A willingness to participate in training and development. 
  • An ability to maintain and develop our school grounds beyond a DIY standard.  

It would be advantageous if you have already completed the following training, although not essential: 
  • Manual handling 
  • First Aid 
  • Working at height 
  • Fire Warden 
  • Asbestos 
  • Legionella

The post is permanent, 37 hours per week (to be arranged), 52/52 weeks of the year. 
 
Please note that all holidays associated with this post will need to be taken during school holiday time and the number of holidays will be calculated in line with guidance.
