Middlesbrough Council are the lead Authority across the Tees Valley for Traffic signals design, maintenance, and installation. We manage the UTMC and UTC systems on behalf of these authorities to proactively manage the Network, keeping traffic flowing and delivering on Transport strategies.
What’s the job?
Middlesbrough Council is seeking a dedicated Traffic Signals Engineer to join our team. As a Traffic Signals Engineer, you will play a vital role in the installation and maintenance of Traffic Signals equipment and other Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) related equipment throughout the Tees Valley area.
What we’re looking for?
An engineer to conduct Installation and maintenance of Traffic Signals equipment, pedestrian crossings, Variable Message Signs (VMS), and other ITS equipment within the Tees Valley area.
Conduct routine maintenance tasks efficiently and effectively.
Collaborate with a team to ensure the smooth functioning of traffic management systems.
Participate in the installation of new junctions and related equipment.
Be available to work on an ‘on-call’ standby rota to address any emergency maintenance requirements.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as they arise.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols at all times.
Knowledge of the following would be advantage.
Variable Message Signs
Journey Time Monitoring Equipment
Electric/Electronic systems experience
4G communication systems installations
Stratos outstation equipment
Traffic signal experience
Yunex Traffic controller knowledge
