When it comes to delivering excellent customer service, few environments are more rewarding than a place that brings enjoyment, education, and knowledge to a whole community.

You will find this and a whole lot more at your local Library and Community Hub Middlesbrough Libraries are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible individual with a love of books to join the teams at Grove Hill and Easterside, which is home to a wide variety of services and organisations.

You must be passionate about promoting reading for pleasure and the benefits of reading the whole family, taking a proactive approach to help reluctant readers or those who want to improve their literacy skills.

You will be working on the general Hub reception, so you must have excellent communication skills as you will be the first person that people engage with, when they visit the Hub, so you must be friendly, approachable and love working with people of all ages.

In addition to your library duties, of issuing and receipting books, helping customers with enquires, and supporting customers to use our public computers, you will be supporting activities and services within the Hub. This will include booking appointments, organising room hire and supporting other organisations who work in the Hub.

You will need good IT and digital skills, enjoy working as part of a team, yet still able to use your own initiative and be able to use our resources in order to answer the wide range of enquiries we receive.

The role may include evening and weekend working, and the requirement to work at any Community Hub and Library in Middlesbrough as requested.

For more information about the role, please contact either Diane Fleet on 01642 729417 or Janet Park on 01642 729423.
