This is an exciting opportunity to join the Human Resources Team, working within a specialist Health and Wellbeing team and closely with the wider team of HR Advisors. We are looking to recruit an experienced Human Resources member of staff, who is highly motivated, passionate, customer-focused and ambitious Health and Wellbeing Advisor.
 
You will work closely with managers and employees, providing them excellent advice in line with our Health, attendance and wellbeing policy, alongside other HR policies and procedures, as appropriate.  You must have an understanding of employment law, reasonable adjustments, rehabilitation plans and understand the importance of stress risk assessment management.
 
We are seeking a Health and Wellbeing Advisor, to provide a key role in the delivery of:
 
Proactive management of Absence Cases:  The job role, which adopts a flexible, hybrid working approach, supports Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council employees if they are absent from work due to long-term sickness, supporting employees back into the workplace or exploring alternative options.  You will require a proven track record of advising on complex HR issues and providing customer focused HR solutions, using influencing and persuasion skills at times.
 
Your passion should include reducing the number of days absence across the authority by offering and supporting employees and management alike.
 
Better Health at Work Award: The award-winning team are also involved in the achievement of maintaining excellence of the Better Health at Work Award, which has been achieved for 10 + years.  Therefore, the role would include promoting, delivering, organising health promotion events throughout the year.  How would you encourage participation?
 
Are you interested in health promotion events, such as a walking challenge for staff, health checks, information about cancer prevention for example?
 
Employee benefits and discounts: The team are responsible for all employee benefits and discounts, including, car lease scheme, Viv-up payroll pay schemes, cycle to work scheme and much more.
 
We need someone who can encourage engagement in our excellent benefits and discounts!
 
Reward and Recognition Programme:  New to the team is a Reward and Recognition programme, you will play a supporting role in recognising employees outstanding achievements, including being proactive in supporting the long service programme.

The hybrid approach enables you to manage the pressures of life alongside a rewarding career.  We have changed our flexi-time policy too, meaning even greater flexibility in working hours, so that you are supported to take time for those important things in life when you need to.

The post is 25 hours per week, with fixed set days, however negotiable depending on your circumstances.
