We have a permanent opportunity available at Freemans Quay Leisure Centre in Durham at 37 hpw
We are looking for a Learn-to-Swim Co-ordinator to join our thriving Wellbeing, Sport, and Leisure team. This new role will focus on co-ordinating a high quality Learn to Swim programme, and ensuring the delivery of a professional, welcoming, and inclusive swim lesson environment for people to thrive.
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
The Learn to Swim programme is a world-leading syllabus that helps children and adults to learn how to swim. As a Learn to Swim Co-ordinator you will provide the day-to-day line management of Swim Teachers, and act as the facilitator and advocate for swimming development to help raise the profile, importance, and benefits of learning to swim.
You will be responsible for organising staff rotas, and the scheduling of lessons to meet programme requirements and customer needs. You will ensure high standards of lesson delivery, and assist in the development, promoting and organisation of events and activities.
You will be proactive and committed to customer experience, whilst also ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all customers and guests.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
You will need:
Swim England Swimming Teachers Level 2
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an appropriate area or willingness to work towards and achieve NVQ Level 3 within an 18 month period
You must also have:
Relevant experience within a Leisure Centre or pool environment
Customer service experience, including experience of working with customers from a wide range of backgrounds with different health and wellbeing needs
Fundamental knowledge of health and safety practices
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
