The governors of Newcastle Nursery Schools’ Federation are looking to recruit a temporary fixed term Deputy Childcare Manager from 1.01.24 to 31.08.25 (in the first instance pending a restructure of leadership in our Federation ready for the start of the academic year 2025-2026)
 
This post will be based at Monkchester Road Nursery School initially to support recent changes in our setting. The post holder may be required to work in other schools across our Federation.
 
Governors are looking for a friendly, calm and knowledgeable deputy to support our staff and work closely with the Federation Childcare Manager. The successful candidate will have considerable experience of working in an Early Years setting with children aged 2 to 5 years. They will have a secure understanding of the Early Years curriculum and create exciting activities and enabling environments to help all of our children reach their full potential. They will be committed to inclusion, diversity and equality and be able to support children and families who have a range of different needs. They will have considerable knowledge and experience of children who have special educational needs and/or disabilities so they can support staff and parents confidently with children in our setting. The post requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills. We need someone who can lead and manage staff, ensuring that their needs are identified and supported while providing a good role model of best practice. Applicants should have a good knowledge and experience of managing children’s personal, social, health, safety and nutritional needs to lead staff in these areas. The successful candidate will train as a Designated Safeguarding Lead and should have a strong background and understanding in how to safeguard children.

The successful applicant will be required to obtain an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure from the DBS and a range of other recruitment checks will be carried out.
