This is a Category “E” Post. Please note as this post involves working with children, vulnerable adults or dealing with sensitive information, written references will be taken up and made available to interviewers before the final selection stage, even if you indicate otherwise.
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable School Bus Escort to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children during their journey to and from school. The role will involve traveling on the school bus with the children, providing support as necessary, and ensuring good conduct and safety at all times.

Main Duties:
The following is a typical list of duties for the postholder, although the role may involve other reasonable duties as required:
• Travel with the children: Accompany children on the bus for the full journey, from the first pick-up point to the school and back.
• Maintain good behaviour: Ensure that children adhere to good standards of behaviour during the journey in line with the School’s Behaviour Policy.
• Assist children: Provide support to children as needed, including any special needs considerations, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Safeguarding: Ensure children’s safety and wellbeing at all times during the journey, ensuring that they are collected by their nominated parent/guardian.
• Monitor behaviour: Report any concerns about children's behaviour to the Education Transport Section and the Headteacher.
• Monitor the bus service: Observe the contractor’s service performance, including the driver’s conduct, the cleanliness of the vehicle, punctuality, and driving standards.
• Promote equality and welfare: Implement the School's Equality Policy and promote the welfare and safety of the children at all times.
• Comply with school policies: Assist in maintaining a healthy, safe, and secure environment by adhering to the school’s policies and procedures.
