About this Role

This role is working within the busy environment of the school office, providing a reception and administrative service, where excellent organisational skills are essential in order to deal with the variety of tasks that need to be undertaken.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Receptionist/Administrator to undertake front of house and administrative duties for our busy school.

The position will involve a mixture of reception duties and administrative support. The postholder will be responsible for answering telephone calls, escorting students around the school site, handling visitor enquiries, dealing with post, and liaising with parents and students as required. The postholder will also be required to carry out administrative tasks as directed by the Senior Administrator, such as sending communications to parents by post, email and text message, producing letters and other documents, data input, and reprographics as necessary.


This post will suit someone who is/has:

• professional and well organised

• friendly and resilient

• an excellent telephone manner

• competent using a range of computer programmes (experience of using SIMS and/or ClassCharts would be helpful although not essential as training will be provided)

• the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team, recognising when to seek support and advice

• able to deliver first aid (statutory first aid at work training can be provided)

• strong attention to detail and accuracy

• ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

• have excellent written and oral communication skills

• able to deal with matters sensitively and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
