Further Information
We are seeking to appoint 2 highly motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced individuals to join a multi-agency team in delivering preventative interventions which aim to support young people identified as at risk of engaging in anti-social or offending behaviour to lead more productive lives.
You should have a NVQ level 4 qualification in Child Care, Social Care, or an equivalent and relevant discipline.
You will have experience of being part of a multi-agency approach to working with young people and their families who may be resistant to change. You will be allocated a smaller caseload to allow time to develop positive relationships and offer an intensive level of support. You will be responsible for completing detailed assessments including Court reports. You will work closely with other agencies and take a lead in co-ordinating the development and delivery of support plans using evidenced-based interventions.
You will be expected to work some evenings and weekends dependent on the identified risks and needs of the young people. You will also be included in the YJS Court duty rota which will include working some Saturdays and Bank Holidays for which you will receive additional payments/time off in lieu.
Ideally you will have some knowledge of the youth justice system, the assessment tools currently in use, enforcement actions and a good understanding of the factors that contribute to a young person becoming vulnerable to engaging in offending behaviour including Adverse Childhood Experiences and Childhood Trauma.
