Ensure that Sunderland People First is led by people with lived experience and are at the heart of all we do.
Development Worker, 1 year Fixed Term with potential to become permanent, 37 hours per week
The role will be to empower our team of self- advocates. Be proactive in the design, leadership and delivery of projects to make inclusion a reality for all people with a learning disability and autistic people and their families, including facilitating workshops and training.
We are looking for someone who has:
A sound values base and knowledge of people with a learning disability and autisticPeople
Interest in current affairs, human rights and the future of social care and healthcareServices
Commitment and passion to achieving the best possible outcomes for all
A sound understanding of safeguarding of vulnerable adults
Strong coaching and mentoring skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Comprehensive IT and technology skills
A satisfactory DBS check will be required.
