Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council has an exciting opportunity within the Vulnerable, Exploited, Missing and Trafficked (VEMT) / Safeguarding Adolescents from Exploitation (SAFE) team based primarily at the Grangetown Youth and Community Centre. 

The small team are responsible for the safeguarding of children and young people who are being exploited, or at risk of exploitation.  This could be by way of sexual or criminal exploitation, going missing and being trafficked.

You will gain valuable support, training and work experience supporting the work of the team and will work closely alongside the VEMT / SAFE Coordinator and VEMT / SAFE Senior Business Support Officer. Tasks will include:
• Convene meetings through a number of different platforms 
• Create meeting agendas and associated papers
• Attend VEMT / SAFE meetings and task and finish groups
• Prepare detailed and accurate minutes for VEMT and SAFE meetings  
• Draft and distribute letters and emails  
• Input data in children’s social care database (following training)
• Maintain accurate electronic records
• Involvement in developing working tools specific to exploitation
• Management of electronic diaries 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working, positive individual who is self-motivated and able to work using their own initiative as well as being a team player. They will also be committed to providing an excellent service and be willing to learn and develop their knowledge. Some experience of minute taking is required and you will need to be proficient in the use of Microsoft software packages: such as Word, Excel and Outlook and be able to pay good attention to detail to ensure accurate recording.

You will be required to have an interest in work with young people and have a real commitment to improving outcomes for them. You will need to be enthusiastic, creative and have a flexible approach to responding to the needs of the service and the VEMT and SAFE team.
