Stepping Stones project – a programme tailored to train and develop Independent living skills for people wishing to move into their own homes or supported living in the future

Residential care provides support for up to eight people. The purpose of the placement is to provide a supported residential placement for the person to live as independently as they can whilst having their care needs catered for. Those occupied in this part of the home are supported to attend individual day placements and community-based activities with staff or personal assistance as well as enjoy a much quieter lifestyle.

Stepping Stones provides support for up to six people. The purpose of the placement is to provide a supported residential programme to assess, train and enable people to develop their independent living skills. The programme aims to enable those accessing the service to be equipped to move into their own home or supported living accommodation on completion of the programme (with the appropriate package of support).

Short breaks (respite) care provides support for up to four people. This placement is short-term care for people who normally live at home, often with relatives or someone else who cares for them. Jervaulx aims to reduce incidents of family breakdown and admission into long term care through supporting families with its short break service. This provision enables families to have regular rest from their caring role whilst providing an enjoyable break as well as more independence for the short break guest.

Jervaulx is an excellent service which provides high level care to a group of vulnerable adults

The roles involve supporting individuals with learning disabilities to work towards achieving their individual aims and goals in a supportive and developmental environment.
Experience in providing personal care is essential. It would be desirable for applicants to have minimum level 2 qualifications in Care or its equivalent.
