We are looking for an individual with traffic signals and Intelligent transport delivery experience with a flexible approach to work and a capability to work under pressure to deadlines.  They will have a willingness to attend meetings and site investigations outside of normal working hours when required.

WHAT IS INVOLVED? 
You will be responsible for designing, commissioning, and delivery of traffic signal and Intelligent transport schemes associated with traffic management, road safety engineering and/or transport planning initiatives, in accordance with relevant standards and legislation.

This generic and flexible role will cover a wide range of duties and responsibilities. It is required to operate flexibly and interchangeably across all areas of Traffic Management.

WHAT WILL I NEED? 
You will have a HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent level of qualification in traffic management or transportation or a related subject.
 
You should have :-
  • Experience of design & installation of traffic signal junctions and crossings.
  • Experience of using specialist traffic signal design software.
  • Proven ability to apply design principles, guidance, and legislation to implement solutions to Traffic Engineering problems.

HYBRID WORKING
Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
