This post is in the Workforce Development team in Hartlepool, which is a vibrant and energetic town with growing prospects. As an authority we want to make Hartlepool the best it can be and want dedicated, driven and committed staff to help us achieve that.
We are looking to employ an experienced, dynamic, motivated and forward thinking social worker to support the development and implementation of the workforce development strategy and plan for Children and Joint Commissioning Services and Adults and Community Based Services.
You will have the overall responsibility of the management of the Workforce Development Team, including the line management of the Development Officer and Development Assistant. You will co-lead and co-deliver the ASYE and Apprenticeship programme with the Practice Development Co-ordinator.
You will be responsible for managing the workforce development function across Children’s and Joint Commissioning Services and Adults and Community Based Services and ensure appropriate training and development opportunities are made available. Design, deliver and coordinate specific programmes and materials to meet identified and agreed learning needs in relation to practice development
You will share a professional lead responsibility for the registration, learning, development and progression of Social Workers and social care staff in Children’s and Joint Commissioning Services and Adult and Community Based Services.
You must be child/person centred, be able to champion best practice and be confident in ensuring that the best possible plans are being implemented for children, families and individuals. You will have experience of providing supervision, building productive relationships and of managing risk effectively.
The role focuses on providing a good quality training offer for staff to continue to grow and develop social work expertise, champion best practice in using relationship and solution focussed approaches to social work to ensure we continue to cultivate a learning culture.
We were recently rated Outstanding in our Inspection of Local Authority Children’s Services (ILACS). Inspectors found that “Senior leaders have not only sustained the good practice and leadership seen at the last inspection, they have been relentless in driving further progress and improvements”. Additionally the report detailed that “The workforce has access to an extensive training offer.
