21.5 hours per week
Temporary – required from Monday 17th February 2025 to
Friday 24th October 2025

Willington Primary School is seeking a maternity leave replacement for a period of 8 months starting 17th February 2025 for the position of school clerical officer.

The post holder will have experience of working in a busy office and have a clear understanding of office practice, financial/cash handling and meeting deadlines.

You will be responsible for general administration of school records, financial record keeping and office services, including operation and maintenance of the schools MIS system Arbor.

We are looking for someone who has good organisational skills, understands the importance of confidentiality and is able to use their initiative and discretion where appropriate.

The successful candidate will be interested in working with children and their families and have good communication and interpersonal skills.

Standard term time only pay is calculated on the basis of the following:

• Number of ‘teaching’ weeks – 38 weeks; plus
• Public (bank) holidays – 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus
• Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days)
Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 32 days annual leave.
For example:
Calculation for employees with less than 5 years’ service:
38 weeks (term time) + 27 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 45 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
Calculation for employees with more than 5 years’ service:
38 weeks (term time) + 32 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 46 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

The position is for 21.5 hours per week and is a term-time only post. Ability to work more hours in the school week may be required on an ad hoc basis.
