Further Information
At North Tyneside Council, people are at the heart of everything we do. We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Team Manager to join our Occupational Therapy Management Team, supporting our workforce to deliver essential support to adults across the borough.

About Us
We are an ambitious and caring council that listens, learns, and strives to deliver the best possible outcomes for our residents. With a strong reputation for transforming lives, our Adult Social Care service is made up of dedicated professionals who provide vital, person-centred support.

The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and resilient leader with the skills and drive to manage an OT team within the dynamic and evolving landscape of Adult Social Care. As Team Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the performance and development of your team, working in close collaboration with another OT Team Manager under the guidance of the Principal Occupational Therapist and Senior Manager.

Collaboration is at the heart of our approach; our management group shares learning, offers mutual support, and fosters innovation.

You will lead teams that provide vital care, support, and targeted occupational therapy interventions to adults aged 18 and over, including those transitioning from Children’s Services.

This encompasses individuals with physical disabilities, chronic ill-health, frailty, learning disabilities, and mental health challenges. A key aspect of the role involves close collaboration with Housing Services, ensuring home adaptations are delivered effectively through the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) process. This work is crucial in creating safe, accessible, and enabling living environments that promote independence, dignity, and overall wellbeing.

Why Work With Us?
As a Team Manager, you’ll benefit from:
• Regular supervision and support from the Principal Occupational Therapist.
• Opportunities to collaborate with a network of experienced team managers.
• The chance to build strong, meaningful relationships with staff, residents, and partner organisations to turn our shared vision into reality.

We’re committed to professional growth and offer a range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities, including access to advanced management apprenticeships through Higher Education Institutions. We believe in developing our workforce so you can achieve your ambitions while making a lasting impact on the lives of adults and families across North Tyneside.

If you are a resilient, values-driven leader with a passion for delivering high-quality care, we would love to hear from you. Together, we can help people achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.

If you would like to discuss this opportunity prior to applying, please contact Lisa Nicholson, Head of Assessment & Prevention on 0191 643 4063.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 and an Enhanced DBS disclosure, including Barred List Check, will be required.

Interviews to take place Thursday 27th February 2025.
