The Governors of Washingwell Community Primary School are looking to appoint a highly motivated and visionary Deputy Head Teacher to work in partnership with the current Head Teacher in the continuing development of our forward-thinking school.

We are seeking a dynamic individual, who will continue to inspire and motivate our staff and support and encourage our pupils to make excellent progress, whatever their starting point or situation. We are looking for a person who can demonstrate vision, resilience and empathy and can evidence the capacity to deliver both high support and high challenge.
The post holder will have responsibility for the School’s academic delivery, including curriculum mapping and all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, they will work alongside the Head in leading the strategic direction of Washingwell Community Primary School. Showing commitment and a relentless drive for excellence, creativity and continuous improvement in practice, they will have the ability to inspire trust and to motivate others through a clearly communicated vision.
We are looking for an exceptional candidate who:
• Is ambitious and aspires to be a Head Teacher in future years
• Is an excellent classroom practitioner.
• Is confident, knowledgeable and who has the passion, energy and skills to make a difference.
• Has a clear vision, strong leadership and effective management skills.
• Is an exceptionally enthusiastic and committed leader when managing and motivating pupils and staff, and can lead and inspire teams to raise standards in student outcomes.
• Is familiar with the need for creativity in delivering the National Curriculum, whilst supporting pupils to overcome their barriers to learning.
• Has a solid understanding of the new Ofsted Education Inspection Framework in order to support the school to develop in line with our vision and objectives.
