About the role….

You will commence on apprenticeship rate of £22,737 per annum, and your rate of pay will increase annually in line with the career grade rate. The surveyor apprenticeship is a 5-year programme.

You will be working as an apprentice surveyor assisting with valuing (including inspecting and measuring), managing, buying, selling, developing and leasing land and property.

 

You will work with colleagues across Gateshead to apply the practical skills you will develop from your program of study.   

 

The apprenticeship you allow you to gain skills, knowledge, and experience in all aspects of Surveyor work required to attend college to gain the necessary qualifications. You must also be willing to actively obtain a full driving license.

 

A bit about Gateshead Council and the Role of Property Services

Gateshead Council own 3116 acres of land and builidng and have a rental portfolio of c3000 assets. The Property Services team buys, sells, leases and grants all rights in and over property and land. In addition to providing technical advise in Valuation and other relevant areas (ie Compulsory Purchase).

This work can be as part of a multi-million pound development scheme, or dealing with an individual wanting to acquire some land to extend a garden. Our property portfolio includes multi-let retail units, industrial estates and a whole host of various assets, which constantly provide new challenges and considerations.

The team will provide you with unrivalled support in order to achieve your aim of becoming a chartered surveyor.
