The Governors are seeking to appoint a caring, dynamic and forward-thinking Assistant Headteacher to join the Senior Leadership Team at Park End Primary School. The successful candidate will hold the position of DSL and attendance lead.

The successful candidate will be passionate about making a difference in the lives of all children in the school. The Governors are looking for someone who is able to motivate and positively engage with both children and adults. You will also be able to enthusiastically and successfully take forward the high aspirations of the school. The position includes limited teaching responsibility in the first instance.

Alongside being an outstanding role model in all teaching standards, the successful candidate will be able to:

• Evidence of successful school improvement
• Build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders
• Manage staff and resources
• Develop, implement, monitor and review school policies and procedures
• Deal with challenging situations and implement difficult decisions
• Use data to monitor pupil progress across the school
• Identify the priorities, implement the actions and evaluate the impact of the school improvement priorities
• Work with and motivate teams and individuals to implement change
• Demonstrate a sound knowledge of assessment procedures
• Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality of teaching and learning
• Regularly reflect on own practice and continually participate in quality CPD
• Motivate, enthuse and develop staff in safeguarding.
• Demonstrate experience of successfully coaching and mentoring staff
• Understand and apply effective safeguarding policies and procedures
• Deal with sensitive issues in a supportive and effective manner
