Portobello Primary School is a successful one-form entry school situated in Gateshead. We are very proud of our school, our pupils, our wider community and of our recent achievements.
We are looking for an outstanding Class Teacher who has a proven ability to raise children's attainment and ambition. A TLR 2i is available for an innovative, motivated and inspirational leader to lead our very successful SEN provision. Our new Leader will be ambitious, possess drive and an unwavering commitment to raising standards and the achievement of every child.
We anticipate the successful candidate to take up role on 28th April 2025.

What skills and experience we are looking for
We are looking to appoint a creative, experienced and enthusiastic practitioner with a genuine belief in inclusive education and the achievement of all pupils. We are looking for someone who:
• has the vision, interpersonal skills and expertise to lead inclusive provision across the whole primary range;
• is already a SENCO, looking to expand the reach of their influence and take on a new leadership challenge or is willing and capable of completing the SENCO qualification;.
• is an outstanding teacher, with high expectations and standards and can use these to raise standards;
• has an innovative and exciting approach to learning;
• has the ability to reflect on and develop their own practice and that of others and is able to both support and challenge colleagues;
• is willing to play a key role in the development and delivery and enrichment of our curriculum;
• can work effectively with teams across the whole school community and external agencies whilst developing excellent relationships with parents/carers/families
• is a well organised and proactive team player who will make a positive contribution to our school team.
